We all wish Branch Supervisor Nancy Swingle a happy retirement, though we will greatly miss her helpful and cheerful nature. So expect to see a new face or two working at the branch

TEA AND TINSELTOWN SET FOR AUGUST 4
Our third annual tea fundraiser is coming together and we think it will be a fantastic way to have fun while supporting our branch library. Tea and Tinseltown will be held on Saturday, August 4 at 1:30 pm in the Community Room. North Highlands-Antelope library, 4235 Antelope Road, Antelope.
High Tea and Mystery was our first sell-out |
Michael Troyan, author of books about 20th Century Fox and several movie stars will be the speaker at the Friends of the Library fundraiser, “Tea and Tinseltown.” The tea begins at 1:30 and the Friends' little book room will open at 12:30 if you would like to shop our wonderful donated books. The Community Room will open at 1:00 for signing in, mingling, and finding a seat. Suggested donation price for the ticket is $25.00. Our last two teas both sold out, so be sure to get your ticket(s) early. You can go online and get your ticket by going to https://squareup.com/store/north-highlands-antelope-friends-of-sacramento-public-library/item/tea-and-tinseltown-august or email the Friends at nhantelope.friends@gmail.com to order your ticket. So, wear your best hat (and maybe win the door prize), come out and meet the author, have some good food, tea, lots of fun and meanwhile know that you are helping our branch purchase programs, books and supplies that benefit us all.
NORTH HIGHLANDS-ANTELOPE FRIENDS HOLD ANNUAL DINNER MEETING
If you are curious about the work of the Friends of the Library, or work during the day and can't get to meetings, well, mark your calendar because our annual dinner and meeting is coming up on Wednesday, July 18 at 6:00 pm in the Community Room. Come meet our branch supervisor, Kristi Powell, and hear about the upcoming changes that will be affecting our branch.
We will also get a full run-down on programs and other expenses planned for the 4th quarter, and will authorize funding for as many of the requests as we can. There will be a progress report on the tea and it isn't too soon to start planning for our next book sale.
We will also enjoy dinner from El Pollo Loco, so please RSVP to Deb Karaman, debbykaraman@gmail.com, to ensure that there is enough food for all our Friends. This is the best meeting of the year, so join us!
